New Magic Trackpad: not so new :)
simonos: Apple introduced a new “Magic Trackpad” today, a very nice trackpad to be used instead of a mouse. But I remember using it back in 1997 with my 20th Anniversary Macintosh. See this picture? http://www.apple.com/magictrackpad/ The 20th Anniversary Macintosh was truly ahead of its time. Look the amount of technology it had, 13 years ago.

F.lux: software to make your life better →
Ever notice how people texting at night have that eerie blue glow? Or wake up ready to write down the Next Great Idea, and get blinded by your computer screen? During the day, computer screens look good—they’re designed to look like the sun. But, at 9PM, 10PM, or 3AM, you probably shouldn’t be looking at the sun. I personally use this all the time and it helps a lot; so much...

Question of the Day: Who is the Bimbo?
Some days back, I was in a camp, participating in some station games within a group of 10. One of the station we came to was Catch Phrase, where I was supposed to make my group guess the song, “Single Ladies”. We took a slightly longer time to guess this as nobody was familiar with this song by Beyonce. When the answer was released, a girl called me a Bimbo for knowing the answer...

Nexus One Phone →
The Nexus One is no longer available for purchase directly from Google… [only] directly from Vodafone with a qualifying service plan in the following countries: Australia France Germany Italy Spain United Kingdom At the rate this is going, Android is moving squarely in the direction of GNU/Linux fragmentation. This means that it’ll be harder for a unified approach to the development...

Joke of the Day: Rice Collection
I was doing a Community Service Project in which I had to go with a group of people to visit various blocks in Bishan to collect food donations, such as rice and canned foods, for needy families on Tanjong Pagar area. Most families would be prepared and kindly donate some food stuffs to us. There are others who are mean and rude, shutting the door at us. In our last block, the WTF moment...

Question of the Day: Public Transport Concession
On my journey from school to home, I take the train and then transfer onto a bus to reach home. If I were to buy a Train Concession Pass (TCP), will my distance-fare calculation for the final bus ride start from my school ($0.07) or will it start from the (transfer) bus stop ($0.71)?

Casino fee given back to public →
THE money collected by the two casinos in entrance fees from Singaporeans and permanent residents (PRs) is already being recycled back to the community. Yeah, so did the increase in GST from 5% to 7% to “help the poor”.

Drowning Doesn’t Look Like Drowning →
The Instinctive Drowning Response – so named by Francesco A. Pia, Ph.D., is what people do to avoid actual or perceived suffocation in the water. And it does not look like most people expect. There is very little splashing, no waving, and no yelling or calls for help of any kind. It’s a rather interesting and informative read.

Marco.org: Great since day one →
cflee: Android as a platform, both in hardware and software, doesn’t reflect this. Nearly every hardware and software release has major shortcomings or rough edges. Many details and design decisions are lacking, wrong, or inexplicable. Neither Google nor the current Android device manufacturers embody the part of Apple’s culture that allows them to release a great product on day one. They have...
